Before macular
degeneration, Harriet's paintings were highly realistic. Her transition
to abstract art was developed under Ruben Tam at the Brooklyn Museum of
Art, better suiting her remaining sharp, peripheral vision
permitting
her to create "dramatic interpretations of life's experiences."
Her awards include First Annual Contemporary Award (1966) Academy of Art,
Easton, Maryland and first and second prizes (1995 and 1996 respectively)
Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, Maryland. |
